In an ideal world, each day we step out our hair would look like that of a confident, independent woman stepping out of her penthouse apartment onto the streets of Manhattan, with each one of her perfectly blow dried locks, seductively hitting her face as she sets out to conquer the world. Alas, the alarm clock is shrieking to a deafening tone and your dream has abruptly shattered. True as it may be that you don’t look like you’ve just stepped out of a shampoo commercial every morning; there are certain measures you can take to avoid another bad hair day. The solution to a bad hair day is to wear a low-cut blouse. Ha ha, just kidding. As effective as that maybe, here are some real solutions:

Spray on a smile
Hate them flyways? Spritz on some hair spray using an old but clean toothbrush, or one of those tiny ones you get on the airplane and comb your loose tendrils in place. The light usage of hairspray will give you good hold without making your hair stiff. Score.

Quality over Quantity
Like most things in life, it’s all about the quality. Use a good quality shampoo and conditioner (Sunsilk’s Natural Recharge will do the trick) and half the job is done.

Sock bun to the rescue
Easy to whip up and chic to the eye, on a bad hair day putting your hair in a sock bun will conceal your hair-flaws while you’ll be left looking classy as can be.

Go dry!
Carry some dry shampoo (Toni & Guy makes a great one) for whenever your hair is feeling limp and outta life, and you just have no time to wash. Just a little dry shampoo boost will refresh your hair and give it enough volume to rock your day, or week.

Be cool
Use the cool-air setting on your blow-dryer. While using the hot switch is perfectly acceptable, cool air sets it in, so don’t let all your hard work go to waste. Life-changer, we know!

And there you have it. Not another bad-hair day is coming your way. You can do your happy dance now.
