The balmy, tropical humdrum down south or the dry, parched climate up north, living where we do, the pouf, fuzz and frayed ends come with the territory. Dry and frizzy hair is simply a cry for oil nourishment and moisturizing. We have the perfect guide to not let you get frazzled by the frizz.

Why so frizzy?
A quick lesson in what actually tends to cause frizz: Porous, dry hair sucks up moisture from the humid air, which causes the hair shaft to swell and kink all over the place. If the air around is not very humid, the dry hair in itself also tends to appear rough and unsettled. So, to prevent your hair from acting like a sponge or a misbehaved, rough bunch, it is important for you to take care of your hair correctly.

The sleep trick
The easiest trick to tame that stubborn halo of flyaways would be to simply sleep on it. If you don’t have time for a morning styling session, shampoo and condition your hair at night. After your shower, allow your hair to dry a little and then apply a styling cream or hair serum from the roots of your hair to the tips. For even better results, tie your hair into a tight bun at the nape of your neck and then sleep on it. When you wake up, simply undo this bun, and run your fingers through your hair for a perfectly styled appearance.

Deep-conditioning
Another must-do for all hair types, especially frizzy hair, would be to take the time out every week and pamper yourself with a hot-oil or deep conditioning treatment. Both treatments can essentially help to reinstate the moisture in your hair and repair any associated damage. By restoring the condition of your hair and strengthening the cuticle, these treatments are ideal to prevent frizz. Since either treatment is not as heavy as a full-fledged mask, you will still be able to retain your natural volume and buoyancy while simultaneously being able to manage your hair better.

Employ these easy do-it-yourself methods to turn down the frizz and enjoy healthy, well-nourished, resplendent tresses.
