We are sure you have been advised time and again by your grandmothers, mothers as well as hairstylists, that the only way to get rid of split ends is to chop them off. But a little bit of laziness and a whole lot of ‘wish to have long hair’, can be the main reasons why you are so scared of getting regular trims. Well, don’t be!
Below, we have listed all the reasons why trimming those split ends is the only way to deal with them effectively...
Uneven pigmentation

Split ends are the ends of your hair that are dead and have split into two. This is a serious, albeit a common sign of hair damage. It is important that you take this sign seriously. Split ends make your hair look dull and damaged. The colour of split ends is usually a bit lighter than your natural hair color. This difference in colour can make your overall hair look discoloured, uneven and unhealthy.
They won’t go away on their own

Let us repeat this once more: Trimming is the only way to get rid of split ends. Turning a blind eye to your split ends is not going to somehow magically make them disappear. In fact, the longer you put off trimming them, the more each end splits into 2 or 3 “feathers.” This, in turn, seriously hinders your hair growth.
Cannot be fixed with products

All the products that claim that they can help get rid of split ends are downright lying! Split ends don’t just magically fuse back together when you start conditioning or taking care of your hair. That is why chopping them off is the only option you have.
