3 NONTRADITIONAL COLOURS YOU CAN WEAR ON YOUR LIPS AS A BRIDE
As the festive season draws closer, we took a good look at our collection of lipsticks and tints, snuck away our wines and maroons and headed out in search for the more unconventional colours that all you lovely brides-to-be could wear for your wedding. Here are our fave picks…

Make a statement with orange
We’ve already spoken enough about statement lips in the darker shades, but as Cory Walia said, that’s so passé!  Why not try some orange for one of your wedding functions? While orange lips seem to be en vogue internationally, Indian women should (rightfully) be a tad sceptical. Consult with your makeup artist to make sure that the shade you’re wearing matches your skin tone and your outfit. For example, orange lips could go well with a gold, cream or beige ensemble but not with a fiery red. Similarly, it could work better on fairer skin tones but might look too jarring on someone who’s dusky.

Gloss is en vogue
The Lakmé Absolute Gloss Addict Nude Glow is tailor-made for the understated bride. It’s the perfect go-to lip colour if you’re planning to play up your eyes or if you’ve invested in an OTT outfit with lots of zari or embroidery work. When your outfit is speaking for itself, it’d be a pity if your lips tried to fight for attention. However, there is a downside. With a shade like this, there is always the risk of seeming like you are wearing just plain old gloss so while its perfect for your sangeet or your mehendi, you might actually want to rethink it for your pheras and reception.

Pretty in pink
While pink lips might be considered old-school or restricted to editorials we’re in full support of them especially for the bride-to-be. Even at the Lakmé Bridal Masterclass with the Dream Team, we saw Cory Walia sneaking in the new Lakmé Absolute Gloss Addict Pink Wink on the lovely Sarah Jane’s lips. While we might have worn the powder pinks with summer dresses to weekend brunches, this rich, glossy and super girly pink perfectly complements most skin tones (from super fair to dusky) and ensembles in a palette of colours. We approve!
