What is micro-current facial?

While micro-current facials are being touted as the latest big thing to hit the skin care world, it is interesting to note that micro-current technology isn’t new. The technology has existed for years together and was first used to treat patients with Bell’s Palsy and muscle paralysis. It is only recently, however, that it has come to be of use in the esthetic world as well. If beauty reports are anything to go by, this treatment works by lifting and firming the skin by gently electrically stimulating the muscles and tissues.
How is it conducted?

The esthetician starts by applying a serum on your face and then glides two spherical prongs over your face. She targets each section and goes over it at least three times. The electric current helps blood circulation and assists in the production of collagen.
How does it benefit

The increased blood circulation and production of collagen firms the skin and makes it taut as well as improves the complexion in addition to de-puffing your face. However, the results only last for 48 hours and it is advisable that one undergoes this just before a special event.
