5 REASONS WE LOVED THE UNCONVENTIONAL ‘DOUBT IS OUT’ SHOW
Ever since the fashion frenzy around LFW ’16 has starter everyone has been a tad bit on edge about the words #Doubtisout. On Day 4 however the suspense was over.

Opening with a hard hitting, precise and super intriguing visual clip, the show urged women to kick those doubts, ifs and buts in the gut and take on life regardless of any and every thing. Well the thought and the collection both had us in complete awe of the show. Here is more…

Divided into five collections the show featured five phenomenal women challenging the different barriers set by the society.

#Gender No Bar

#Choice No Bar

The first segment featured pant suits, checkered capris, black tunics, leather biker jackets with an ikat sari, tie-up blouse et al. And to conclude the gender no bar segment, came Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, activist and voice of the LGBT movement in India.

Whoever thought that lean, leggy and lovely models belonged to the ramp, needed to have a look at Laxmi sashaying down the runway in a black, white and red ikat sari like she belonged there.

This segment and collection opened with a pink biker blouse, followed by long waistcoats, pants, shirt-dresses and white tiered dress among others.

We already know that every girl loves her heels and off duty pilots are no different! Our point was very well proved by Suman Sharma, the country’s first MIG and F16 pilot who breezed down the runway in a blue pant suit.

#Size no bar

#Choice No Bar

Apart from the obvious red pants, printed tops, flared cropped tanks, printed minis this segment made a strong case for the trending issue of ‘sizeism’ and body shaming. Comedian Bharati Singh put these ‘sizeists’ to shame as she closed the segment in a layered silk dress with silver embellishments.

#Age No Bar

#Choice No Bar

This segment against age being a barrier displayed purple and maroon long kurtas, white skirt and belted dresses and more. But the highlight of the set will have to be the yesteryears starlet Helen, looking nowhere close to her real age, as she walked down the ramp proving that no matter how old you are, grace will stay with you forever.

The final segment of this spectacular show featured a range of ikat saris in multi shades of red, black, white, fuchsia and orange. Again in sync with the theme of the segment, it was the gorgeous and sensational actor Sunny Leone who invaded the ramp in a white blouse paired with colourful sari.
