COUTURE THAT ENJOYED OUR ATTENTION AT LFW DAY 3
Day 3 of Lakmé Fashion Week saw a lot of delicate work on unconventional garments. Bomber jackets, cropped pants and midi dresses formed the highlights of the day in deeper colour palettes to ring in the festive season. We rounded up the 5 best couture collections that deserve a noteworthy mention...

Vasundhara Mantri

This time around, the designer focused on versatile jewellery with her collection ‘Blurred Lines.’ Her collection was dramatic, to say the least, as jagged triangles linked together with floral pendants created the art deco version of modern-day necklaces, headgear and hand harnesses.

Armaan Aiman

Designers  Aiman Agha and Armaan Randhawa presented a rather minimal and sporty collection. Called ’Eclipse,’ it was undoubtedly the best collection we found so far. With nature-inspired elements and colourful threadwork, this easily makes it to one of our favourite wearable collections from Day 3. A special mention for the totem shirt with jellyfish and moon embellishments.

Urvashi Joneja

Urvashi Joneja’s colourful line, ‘Polaris’, was a collection of sharply tailored pants, jackets, dresses and shirts. While she used rainbow colours to play with prints her colour palette stayed true to blue, black and oxblood. Despite the presence of so many bright colours, her collection looks easy, wearable and a promising asset to any working woman’s wardrobe.

Nachiket Barve

His ‘Chiaroscuro’ collection was a kind of fashion fantasy for his audience. Gothic elements such as raven feathers, medieval armour, graphic roses and swirling swallows all came together in Barve’s red carpet pieces—flouncy long coats, sheer dresses and full-circle skirts. Highlights? The intense use of marsala with black embroidery and silver zari that brought to life his dramatic collection.
