This year, fashion week was opened by designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla who sent models down the runway dancing and lip syncing. Inspired by all things retro, the show finished with the girls dressed in gold and grooving together to disco beats.

Manish Malhotra presented his first menswear show at LFW. Dapper men in impeccably cut clothes, a glamorous setting, and Ranbir Kapoor as showstopper—all the ingredients for a dream Instagram shot in one show.

Bodice by Ruchika Sachdeva is known for its utilitarian and minimal silhouettes. As models helped each other dress as part of the show, we were wowed by the crisply tailored ensembles as much as the thoughtful choreography.

Launching her Grassroot collection, Anita Dongre let the karigar take centre stage. Along with models and showstopper Dia Mirza, a community of women artisans took the runway—a tribute to the crafts community on Indian Handlooms and Textiles Day.

Ashdeen Lilaowala presented contemporary designs inspired by the traditional Parsi Gara. Celeb stylist and Vogue India fashion director Anahita Adajania Shroff captured the designer’s vision in its gilded, rosy details

Move over regular fashion shows. Kallol Datta showcased an installation titled Impasse combining his artistic vision with fashion. With most of the models in tailored whites, the highlight was a flowing sari made of green foil.

Fashion week’s red carpets are sprinkled with celebrities posing for their bed shots. We particularly love this shot of tinsel town veterans Jaya Bachchan and Dimple Kapadia sharing a laugh. Candid and beautiful—what’s not to love?
