5 BIG FASHION TRENDS THAT RULED STREET STYLE AT LAKMÉ FASHION WEEK
Street style is the largest indicator of what’s in and what’s out when it comes to fashion trends. This season, street style at the recently concluded Lakmé Fashion Week seems to be more of a merger of Indian and international trends, with tassels, embroidery, leather and more. We tell you 5 big fashion trends that will be ruling the fashion scene for the upcoming winter and festive season...

Fringe

Boho lovers are embracing this trend with fervour. Be it shoes, bags, skirts, jackets or even jewellery, the fringe definitely seem to be ruling the roost in every way possible. Style tip? Sashay down in a fringe skirt for a showstopper look.

Embroidery

This trend has taken us by surprise! Spotted on Indian and western garments and accessories alike, we love the fact that this art form is finally having a well-deserved moment. Our favourite? Modern-day jackets with bright thread embroidery that stand out on a neutral colour base.

Crop tops

Most women preferred chopped lengths when it came to uppers. Midriff-baring was not an uncommon sight, making the street scene sexier and bolder. We suggest you wear a cropped jacket as a top by pairing it with flowy bottoms to seal your look.

Gladiators

Every other pair of feet we saw had embraced gladiators. As powerful and pretty as they are, if you’re going to buy a new pair of shoes this winter, we insist you get your hands on a pair or two of gladiators, in styles such as gold, fringes or studs if you’re looking to adopt international trends.

Long capes

The coolest cover-up trend by far, we like how it provides ample coverage while still being so comfortable and stylish. While many chose to go for asymmetrical ones in nude tones, we like how this one made an understated statement with minimal prints on her statement piece.
