No matter how much you try staying away from sugar, there are times when your resolve gets weakened and you start to really crave for it, especially when you see donuts or a birthday cake. The real problem is not the consumption of sugar but rather overindulging yourself.
Following strict diets can be pretty hard but is good for your health. However, there are certain diet myths that you’ve probably never even thought of questioning. We’re going to bust a few myths that even some instructors won’t warn you about. Read and consume them, but in small portions. Don’t get too excited and go overboard though.
- Myth: Eating Breakfast and Avoiding Late Night Eating
- Myth: Avoid Dairy During Diet
- Myth: Shouldn’t Eat Carbs To Lose Weight
- Myth: You Shouldn’t Eat Too Much Fruit
- Myth: Extra Protein During Exercise
Myth: Eating Breakfast and Avoiding Late Night Eating

Fact: We have heard numerous times that eating breakfast is mandatory and avoiding late night eating is the best rule for weight loss. Well, this myth needs to be busted! Yes, hav* breakfast is really good for your health, but skipping it once in a while isn't such a big issue. That you need to have five meals in a day to stay healthy is also a myth. It’s best that you eat 2 or 3 meals and no unhealthy snacks, although munching on healthy snack bars is totally fine.
Myth: Avoid Dairy During Diet

Fact: High fat dairy can help you lose weight and low fat dairy can promote weight gain. When you’re consuming dairy products, stick to ones such as yoghurt, cheese, kefir and ghee. Even drinking milk isn’t quite problematic if you are trying to lose weight.
Myth: Shouldn’t Eat Carbs To Lose Weight

Fact: Breathe a sigh of relief because this is a myth as well. Yes, you read that right! The effects of consuming carbs totally depend on the quality of food that you eat. Avoid refined carbs such as white bread, pasta, cookies, cakes, pastries, etc. since they can contribute considerably to weight gain. But a well balanced meal consisting of chicken, vegetables and a side of quinoa, rice or sweet potatoes is pretty healthy. You need to build a proper routine for your diet as well. A high intake of carbohydrates is not necessary for those who live a sedentary life. But consuming some amount of carbohydrates will always make you feel better.
Myth: You Shouldn’t Eat Too Much Fruit

Fact: Weight gain results from poor eating habits and overeating, not from eating fruit. So if you’ve cut down on fruits with the idea of losing weight, you can start having them again now. A large serving of fruits for breakfast is the perfect way to start a healthy day. What are you waiting for then? Go, get some of your favourite fruits for yourself and eat them every day, without fail.
Myth: Extra Protein During Exercise

Fact: Even if you’re exercising every day, you don’t really need to consume extra protein or more than the average consumption of one who doesn’t exercise every day. Don’t overindulge yourself with extra protein food before or after you’ve exercised. It doesn’t really help much. Instead, make a diet chart and start eating proper, balanced meals without compromising on any of the essentials.
