Burning in 3s
Burn up to 300 calories in 30 sets. Swim your way to the deep end of the pool and tread (cycle in the water) as hard as you can for 30 seconds. Then give yourself a 30 second break and float on your back. Repeat for 30 sets. Take along a girlfriend and gossip away as you tread and you won’t even realise as you move on from one set to the next. By the end of the afternoon you’ll feel your body tone up.

Water lunges
Hate lunging on-ground because of the strain it puts on your knees? Well, you just hit jackpot! Get shapely thighs by lunging away in water. Water makes high-impact jumps joint-friendly so you won’t feel a thing on your knees, while still getting the effect where desired. So, get waist deep in the pool, lunge with your right foot forward, knees bent, and hands on your hips, jump and land with your left foot forward and repeat. With 20 reps under your belt you’ll quickly make the transition from thunder thighs to power thighs. Let’s go, ladies!

Splash your way to skinny
Are you planning a weekend in Goa? We’ve got just the activity for you to double up on the fun factor while getting fit along the way. Jump in the cool water and squat, you’ll do so many so fast that you wont even realize that you’re getting great exercise.  Play a little game with your buddies by jumping over the waves as they come at you. Crouch down and jump—we promise the giggles and fits of fun will follow suit. To change things up, jump backwards and sideways as you hit the waves to give yourself a full body workout.

As the esteemed Dorothy Parker once said "living well is the best revenge" and I take that piece of advice to heart. A babe in the woods for all things theatrical--I like to see drama in the mundane. Fresh off the yacht into this editorial world, I look forward to bringing in a fresh, beautiful perspective.
