Coconut milk

To make this milk, take one cup of unsweetened, dried shredded coconut and add it to 4 cups of water. Blend on high speed for about 2-3 minutes and your coconut milk is ready!

Almond milk contains only 60 calories while your regular whole milk gives you as much as 146 calories. Moreover, this milk also good for the heart since there is no cholesterol or saturated fat in almond milk. To make this, you will need to soak almonds in water for 12 hours. Rinse them and then add them to a blender with water. Blend several minutes until smooth and creamy. Strain into a bowl with a cheese cloth and serve chilled.

 

Soy milk

The best alternative for vegans or those who are lactose intolerant, soy milk is highly nutritious. You can rely on soy milk to improve cholesterol as well as help you in weight loss as one cup of whole soy milk has only 80 calories. What’s more, drinking soy milk will also give you fiber, which means you will be full for a while and not reach out for the unhealthy foods that you usually do during times of hunger. To make a litre of soy milk, you need about 125 g soybeans. Clean the soybeans and soak them in water for about 10-15 hours. Post this, heat the soybeans by microwaving them for about 2 minutes. After this, grind the soybeans and 1 litre water in a blender and drain the mixture through a muslin cloth. Heat the soy milk till boiling point and then cool it down for it to be ready.

It also has manganese, which has the ability to produce an enzyme that can fight the effect of free radicals and it is also rich in iron thereby helping you fight anemia. To make this, you must have 2 cups of milk and 2 pods of slightly crushed cardamom. Pour the milk to a pan and add cardamom to it. Bring to boil and let it simmer for about 3 minutes. Add some sugar for taste and keep in the fridge after it cools down. Strain the milk and pour into a glass.
