How to apply mascara on your lower lashes for a bolder look!

While applying mascara to our top lashes has become second nature to us, most of us completely skip our lower lashes. But mastering this makeup look is easier said than done. Smudged mascara, ugly streaks and clumpy lashes are some problems that are all too real.

But this is no way means that we have to give up on ensuring that our eyes look absolutely perfect. And skipping mascara on your lower lashes is definitely not good. We won't lie to you, this task is a little intimidating, but you can easily master this skill with the right tips and tricls. Read on as we detail out some amazing tips to ensure that the mascara on your lower lashline does not smudge and your eyes look properly awake.

Always start with the bottom lash

We have all been conditioned to start with applying mascara to our upper lashes, but that is not how it should be done. By applying mascara to your bottom lashes first, the rest of your eye makeup is not disturbed, and should there be any errors, it will be very easy to clean up.

Use a waterproof formula

For obvious reasons, we highly recommend that you use nothing but a waterproof formula for your bottom lashes to prevent any sort of smudging. This is especially useful for people with longer lashes, as long lashes may end up touching the area under your eyes, leading to 'panda eyes' in no time.

Swipe mascara the right way

We usually tend to apply our mascara in an up and down motion, but that's not the right way to apply mascara, especially to your bottom lashes. Always go from side-to-side instead of up and down to give your eyes that beautiful, dramatic and thick-lashed effect.

A smaller mascara wand is a lot better

If you want to coat your bottom lashes on a regular basis, we recommend that you use a smaller mascara wand. Since our bottom lashes tend to shorter, a smaller mascara wand will deliver precise results and prevent the mascara from smearing.

It is always a great idea to brush through your lashes, both before and after applying mascara. To do so, simply run a clean spoolie through your lashes to ensure that you easily get rid of any clumps.
