DIY eyeshadow primer in 5 easy steps

Makeup junkies know the magical powers of a primer. Applying this one product before starting your makeup can completely change your final look. Your foundation goes on smoothly, makeup lasts longer, and skin looks even and flawless. It also prevents makeup meltdown which is more common during the warmer months.

Most women will invest in a primer because of all the above-mentioned benefits but when it comes to an eye primer, they are not so sure. We get it, you rarely apply eye makeup so buying an eyeshadow primer might just go to waste. What if we told you there’s a DIY alternative that offers pretty much the same result? You will definitely try it, right? So what are you waiting for, read on!

You will need:

  • Fragrance-free body butter or thick moisturiser
  • Aloe vera gel
  • Foundation
  • Concealer
  • Small tub
  • Toothpick

Step 01: Start by adding a little bit of the foundation into an empty small tub. Choose one that’s the closest to your skin tone.

Step 02: Now add the same amount of concealer to the mixture.

Step 03: Take a drop of body lotion or scoop some moisturiser and add that to the tub as well. The moisturiser will prevent the lids from drying.

Step 04: Add a drop of aloe vera gel to this mixture. It will keep oily lids at bay.

Step 05: Using a toothpick, mix all the products well and you’re done!

You can use this primer even when you’re not wearing eye makeup to give your lids a smooth texture and prevent oily lids.

But not all of us have the time or patience for DIY stuff, and that's completely fine. Here's a little hack that's going to come in quite handy - use a pea-sized amount of the Lakmé Absolute Undercover Gel Primer all over your eyelid, and you'd never again feel the need to have a separate eye primer ever again!
