Lakme Fashion Week S/R 2020 has officially kicked off *woot*.
I’ve got my outfits in place, nails done and my planner jotted with tasks for the day (not-so-glamorous after all, eh). While I’m low-key dreading the chaos that is about to ensue, I’m equally excited to see top makeup artists create magic on the runway.
While attending shows, covering backstage drama and networking, I have to make sure to put my best face forward (don’t want to be remembered as the girl with a crooked winged liner). In order to do this, I do just a little bit extra in making sure my makeup stays in place all day long.
So, if you’re keen to find out how I do my makeup for fashion week, read on...
Face:

Step 01: I start by cleaning my face. Since I don’t have time to do a whole CTM routine, I simply pour my Simple Kind To Skin Micellar Cleansing Water on a cotton pad and swipe it across my face. This gets rid of the dirt and grime and leaves me with a squeaky clean canvas.
Step 02: My skin tends to get really dry during the winters and constant running around during fashion week just adds to the woes. Hence, I always moisturise my face using a hydrating moisturiser. The Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser is my go-to as it keeps the skin perfectly hydrated for upto 12 hours and leaves my skin with a healthy glow.

Step 03: I love products that do double duty especially on days like these.
The Lakme 9 To 5 Primer + Matte Perfect Cover Foundation is my holy grail foundation for such days. The built-in primer saves me from having to scramble through my vanity looking for individual products. I use a brush to apply my foundation and then go over it with a beauty blender to get an even finish.
Step 04: I then move on to conceal my under eyes and other problem areas such as blemishes and scars using a concealer. The Lakme Absolute White Intense Liquid Concealer is my favourite as it not only conceals, but also has that an instant brightening effect.
Step 05: Lastly, I set everything in place using a loose powder and spritz some setting spray on my face. This ensures my makeup stays in place and doesn’t budge throughout the day.
Eye and Lips:

Step 01: I applied a light layer of concealer on my eyelids and set it using a nude colour from the Lakme Absolute Infinity Eye Shadow Palette. I lightly dusted a warm brown colour from the same palette all over my lids to add a wash of colour.
Step 02: If it was any other day, you’d never see me wearing eyeliner. But since it’s fashion week, I have to shed my inhibitions and step up my beauty game. To add a playful element to my look I chose the Lakme Absolute Kohl Ultimate The Gelato Collection in the shade Candy Floss. The vibrant pink colour makes my hooded eyes pop and makes me consider using coloured eyeliners more often.
Step 03: Next, I used the Lakme Absolute Flutter Secrets Volumizing Mascara to add volume to my lashes - top and bottom.
Step 04: Lastly, I applied some lip balm to moisturise my lips before going in with the Lakme Absolute Matte Melt Liquid Lip Color in the shade Vintage Pink to tie my monochrome look together. For blush, I applied the same colour on my cheeks and lightly dabbed it with my fingers.

I was scared the outcome was going be too OTT, but one look in the mirror and I’m kinda happy with the result. So Fashion Week, here I come.
Coloured eyeliner, I’ll come for you too (probs, later).
