Irrespective of whether you are spending V-day with a bunch of friends or going on a date *winks*, I will help you recreate a perfect makeup look.
I wanted to create a cutesy makeup look that would work well irrespective of my final plans, yet look perfectly appropriate for Valentine’s Day. This is why I went ahead and recreated this stunning pink monochrome makeup look! This soft and gorgeous makeup look can easily be paired with just about any outfit and make you look glam in a matter of minutes. Want to find out how to recreate it? Here’s a step-by-guide to show you exactly how I recreated the look. Read on…
Eyes

Step 01: Start with the eye makeup first as it is very easy to clean fallout (if any), which becomes difficult if the base is already done. First, apply a bit of the Lakme Absolute White Intense Liquid Concealer on the lids as it works as a great eyeshadow primer and helps cover up any veins or pigmentation. Seal the concealer with powder to prevent it from creasing.
Step 02: Next, apply an eyeshadow colour that’s closest to your lid’s natural colour to create a transition and apply it all over the lid and onto the crease as well. Blend the edges of the eyeshadow in circular motions.
Step 03: Next, take the pink colour from the Lakme Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette - Royal Persia and pack it all over your lids using a flat brush. Even when creating a monochrome makeup look and using colours from the same family, remember to play with the lighter and darker shades to create more shadows and emphasise the eyes. Next, take the same pink colour to define and darken the crease while blending the shadow outwards to elongate the eyes.
Step 04: Moving on to the lower lash line, take the darker pink colour and trace it all along my lower lash line. Smudge it out to create a smokey effect. Post this, take a glittery pink eyeshadow on a small brush and apply it right to the inner corner of the eyes.
Step 05: Next, put on some flash lashes for that extra bit of drama (I mean, it’s Valentine’s Day after all!) and apply a thin flick of eyeliner to cover up the glue. After the lashes, go in and apply the Lakme Eyeconic Curling Mascara to define and open up the eyes.
Face

Step 01: After you’re done with the eye makeup, it is now time to do the base. For this, take a little bit of the Lakme Absolute Argan Oil Serum Foundation SPF 45 and apply it all over your face and neck, using a damp sponge. This will give your skin a super fresh and dewy finish. After this, apply a little bit of concealer on the under-eye area, and around the nose and mouth.
Step 02: Next, apply a little bit of powder to the undereye area to prevent the concealer from creasing.
Step 03: After the base is in place, move on to the bronzer to add a little warmth to your complexion while giving it a bit more definition. Use the bronzer from the Lakme Absolute Highlighter – Moon Lit and swipe on very little right under your cheekbones, jawline and the temples using a big fluffy brush.
Step 04: To add a flush of colour to your cheeks, take the baby pink blush from the Lakme Absolute Face Stylist Blush Duos - Pink Blush and apply it to the apples of the cheeks and a tiny bit on the nose too.
Step 05: Finally, it’s time for some highlighter! Take the lighter shade from the Lakme Absolute Highlighter – Moon Lit and apply it to the high points of your face such as my cheekbones, forehead, bridge of my nose, cupid’s bow and chin.
Step 06: Even though most people prefer to do their brows before their base, I prefer to do mine after since my brow makeup usually tends to smudge while applying foundation. So, take the Lakme Absolute Precision Eye Artist Eyebrow Pencil - Dark Brown and apply it with a very light hand to fill in any gaps or sparse areas.
Lips

Step 01: For the lips, pick a nude pink lipstick to stick to the monochrome theme. First, take the Lakme 9 to 5 Primer + Matte Lip Color – Blushing Nude and just dab it all over your lips.
Step 02: To complete the lip makeup, take a darker pink lipstick on your ring finger and just press it on the lips for a slightly more vibrant yet understated effect.
