3 DIY Scalp Scrubs to Treat Your Mane With This Weekend

Pollution, dirt, heat damage… your hair goes through a lot every day! This leads to greasy, oily hair with build-up and residue, which, let’s be frank, is not at all healthy for your tresses. You need to give your hair a little more than your regular shampooing and conditioning to keep them healthy and strong. Enter: Scalp scrubs.

Your scalp is an extension of your skin and requires the same amount of TLC. Exfoliating will help get rid of impurities and leave your scalp squeaky clean. And no, you don’t need to spend money to get your hands on an expensive store-bought product; instead, you can make one at home using easily available ingredients in your kitchens. Excited? Read on…

Brown sugar and oatmeal rub

This scrub is just what you need to deeply exfoliate and cleanse your scalp. It works to remove build-up from the scalp, leaving it cleansed and refreshed.

Here’s what you need:

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons oatmeal
  • 2 tablespoons of Love Beauty & Planet Tea Tree Oil & Vetiver Clarifying Conditioner
  • Few drops of olive oil

All you gotta do is blend the brown sugar and oatmeal in a blender and then mix in the conditioner and olive oil in the mix.

The brown sugar and oatmeal work to exfoliate your scrub while the Love Beauty & Planet Tea Tree Oil & Vetiver Clarifying Conditioner and olive oil hydrates and clarifies your scalp. The conditioner also soothes and removes further build-up from your hair and leaves an amazing citrusy, woody smell in your hair.
