How To Remove Acrylic Nails At Home Without Damaging Your Real Ones

Out of all the salon services that hold a special place in our hearts, getting our nails done is probably our favourite! Life may be imperfect, but for that one hour when we're getting a manicure, everything seems alright. The problem, however, arises when you get acrylic nails. While they may look on-fleek, they can break off easily. And even if you take good care of them, it's not like they'll last forever. So if you're dealing with a little bit of unsightly chipping, or need a refresher, we've got a few steps you can carry out to get rid of acrylic nails at home. Check 'em out!

If you're okay with using a little bit of (or a lot of) acetone, use this tip to get rid of your tips! Here's what you need to do:

Step 01: Start by clipping off the excess acrylic nails, and try to be as close to your real nails as possible.

Step 02: Using a nail filer or a buffer, start chipping away at the surface of the acrylic polish, until it completely stops shining. If you had matte polish on, buff until you feel like the first layer of the polish is gone.

Step 03: In a bowl, pour 100% pure acetone (it's readily available in the market, in case you were wondering) and soak your digits for around five minutes.

Step 04: With a cuticle pusher, start chipping off the polish, moving in a downwards direction from your cuticle.

Step 05: Re-dip your nails into the acetone solution for five minutes again, and buff out the rest of the pieces. And that's it!

Got it in your bag? Well, here's what you need to do now:

Step 01: Follow the same couple of steps as with acetone — clip off the excess, and buff the surface until the first layer of the paint is gone.

Step 02: Take a bowl full of the Lakmé Nail Colour Remover and soak your nails in it for 30-40 minutes.

Pro-tip: Acetone-free nail paint removers tend to evaporate quicker, so make sure you keep topping up the bowl.

Step 03: A soak for that long should ensure that your nails have loosened up. Once they feel adequately wobbly, simply tweeze 'em out. If they don't, keep soaking till th
