Today we’re taking a look at the latest food trends to hit the internet which have got our taste buds salivating.
Oreo Bagels

Just when we think we couldn’t love Oreos any more, the Oreo bagel comes along. Popularised by The Bagel Nook in New Jersey, an Oreo bagel consists of vanilla and chocolate bagel bread which sandwiches full Oreo cookies in the centre with Oreo cream cheese. The most decadent way to start your day? You bet!
Extreme cocktails

You don’t need to tell us twice when it’s cocktail hour and after the invention of extreme cocktails, even more so! In this trend that is hitting every brunch nook, the regular sized cocktail is accompanied with appetizers in place of a cocktail umbrella. Expect the accompanying bite to range from skewered mozzarella sticks to even a club sandwich! The bigger, the better, we say!
Inception donut

The only way we could love donuts even more is when they lead to more donuts. With the intriguing Inception donut, that’s now a possibility. Created by The Cinnamon Snail in New York, the much-loved dessert consists of a large donut topped with smaller donuts which are further sprinkled with tinier donuts. While the base donut is a legitimate donut, the topping donuts are sugar cookies and the sprinkled donuts are cheerios. Donut heaven? We’d like to think so!
Rainbow sushi

If there is one way to get our attention, it is with the addition of a rainbow and rainbow brows are proof of that! So when it comes to the Japanese cuisine, what better way to reinvent our favourite dish than by making it multi-coloured. In rainbow sushi, the rice that packs the meat is coloured in various shades, making the final sushi roll a treat for the eyes as well!
Smoothie stacking

If you’re a fitness freak, you’ll know that motivation is key. And what can serve as better motivation than a pristine jar of a deliciously divided smoothie. Smoothie stacking is carried out by layering different coloured smoothies in one container on top of the other along with garnishing it with fruits and seeds. Nothing will get you up in the morning as quick as a gorgeous and nutritious smoothie stack.
Raindrop cake

Unlike anything ever seen in the modern culinary world, the raindrop cake can either shock or thrill you. Created by Chef Darren Wong, the raindrop cake is his take on a cult Japanese dessert, the Mizu Shingen Mochi. The lightweight dessert consists of no calories whatsoever and is served with roasted soybean flour and sugarcane syrup. This one is definitely a refreshing take on tradition!
