Wear rubber gloves

You might end up spending more than you accounted for but most of you would agree that gel nails are totally worth it. Naturally then, you don’t want to ruin your manicure too soon. One of the first things you need to keep in mind is to wear rubber gloves while cleaning or washing something. Gel nails can be fragile and you don’t want to end up with chipped nail polish.
Stay away from hot water

Avoid hot water because otherwise the water seeps into your nail plates and the polish wears off. So make sure you use lukewarm water while washing your hands or even while bathing.
Hydrate your nails

For your gel nails to last longer, make sure you moisturise your fingers and your cuticle area, especially for those of you who have flaky nails. We suggest using the Vaseline Deep Restore Body Lotion that’s formulated with glycerin, pure soya extracts and stratys-3 multi-layer moisture.
Do not cut/file

In order for your gel nail polish to last, you must avoid cutting or filing your nails at all times. If you do happen to do so, you will notice how you end up breaking the seal of the gel polish which will result in peeling.
Don’t pick on them

This is one of the most obvious rules to caring for your gel nails. Picking or chewing your nails is the last thing you want to do when you’ve gotten a fresh gel manicure. Not only will this ruin the health of your nails but it will also destroy the manicure completely.
