Runways have more often than not, been representative of models of a certain build and features. Recent times have seen more and more designers create collections that celebrate women of all shapes, features, abilities and ethnicities.
Here we bring you the Milan Fashion week at its diverse best, and we laud the ladies who walked the runways.

53 year old Monica Bellucci walked the runway for Dolce and Gabbana. The Italian actress looked splendid in a black and white polka dot number.

50 year old Carla Bruni also walked for the Dolce and Gabbana show. She strutted down the runway in a silver and gold heavily brocaded three-piece suit.

Young women (!) with silver hair walked the runway with butterfly-winged sunglasses in lace-knitted outfits.

Italian actor Isabella Rossellini walked the ramp with three generations of her family. She walked with son Robert, daughter Elettra Wiedemann, and grandson Ronin.

Indian model Dipti Sharma walked the ramp for Dolce and Gabbana in a very Indian-inspired baroque maharaja attire complete with crown and all!
