HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR HAIR DURING THE WINTER
Barring some serious implications of climate change [we hear you, Leo, we really do!], having the monsoons come in tardy this season meant more time with our hair behaving in a way that’s socially acceptable. That is, no unwanted frizz, hair that listens to its soul, and most importantly hair that is manageable albeit, with a pump of leave-in here, a spray of shine there. But now, we’re one week shy of winter which means the nonchalant attitude with regard to our hair has got to change, pronto! Winter hair care requires some serious thought, dedicate and love and we’re here to show you all the right moves to make so that your hair can party the season away with you.

Oiling to battle dryness

Conditioning it right

Winter brings with it issues that have a direct impact on the health of our skin and hair and the first one of the sort is dryness. As soon as the chill sets in, you’ll experience a sensation of dryness, flakiness and itchiness on your scalp. The key to tackling this is a cup of heated oil (extra-virgin olive oil or cold-pressed coconut will do the trick) and a squeeze of fresh lemon. If you want to go the extra mile of secured conditioning break in a capsule of Vitamin E to the mix and you’re golden.

Beat the static

Conditioning it right

Winter also brings with it bucket loads of static which leads to our least favourite—frizzy hair. Combat this by combing your hair with a vented hair brush, washing hair only in lukewarm water and using leave-in conditioner to keep your hair smooth and hassle-free.

Add a dash of honey

Conditioning it right

By applying honey to the roots of your hair and letting it soak for thirty minutes, you will help your hair restore its shine and bounce which may have fallen prey to a spell of dryness.

While conditioning your hair is a must during the winter—one way you can boost your conditioning game is by adding oils to your conditioner. Choose non-greasy oils that your hair is comfortable with and leave on for twenty minutes before washing off. The result will blow your winter mane away.
