Get rid of your makeup
We’d suggest keeping your monsoon makeup to a bare minimum but in the case where you just can’t stand to see your face without it, we suggest investing a decent amount of time taking it off when you return home. The humidity along with dirt, grime and an additional layer of makeup is a lethal combination your skin may not be able to handle all at once. So rid it of everything artificial throughout the day and let it rest thoroughly cleansed and moisturised.

Cleanse and exfoliate
Dummy tip: You need to cleanse your face every day.
Not-so-dummy tip for the monsoon: You need to cleanse more than once a day, depending on where you’ve been, and also invest time in exfoliating at least once or twice a week.
Thanks to the humidity and pollution, your skin is automatically more likely to hold on to impurities. So use a good cleanser and exfoliate as often as your skin needs to rid your skin of the deep seated dirt lurking at the surface and below your skin in order to prevent unwanted eruptions.

Tone everyday
Your toner will be of most use in the summer and the monsoon. Toning at least once a day will help close the pores of your skin and make it less susceptible to skin infections and acne. It’ll also keep a check on the excess oil manufactured by your skin as well as maintain its pH balance – something that’s critical in such humid weather.

Get steamy
Steaming is an excellent option when your skin is in dire need of deep cleansing and conditioning. This simple procedure that can be done at home opens up your pores and allows the dirt trapped inside to come to the surface. Do this for 10 to 15 minutes once or twice a week to make sure your skin is not congested with any deep seated dirt and grime. Once you’re done, rub a piece of ice all over your skin to close the pores and follow it up with a moisturiser.
