Who’s surprised that Switzerland makes it to the list? With all the snow-capped mountains, cheese, ski slopes and chocolate—who can fault them?

Stockholm’s Gamla Stan is one of the largest and best preserved medieval city centres in Europe and for that Sweden makes the list to being the fifth happiest country in the world.
