FAT—WHY YOU NEED IT!
Most people believe that any fat in their foods will lead to their ultimate doom. These misguided folk couldn’t be further from the truth. BeBEAUTIFUL is here to set the record straight and tell you exactly why you need some fat in your life.

Fat helps you think

Trans fats = bad fats

Did you know that fat is food to your brain? Over half of your brain is made up of fat. Fat makes up the lipid bilayer that surrounds the nerve cells in your brain. Hence, you need fat for brain development, and that should be reason enough, agree?

Fat helps you burn calories

Trans fats = bad fats

Did you know that without a healthy proportion of fat, your body would not be able to absorb essential vitamins? This means that when you go on a crash-diet, banning all fats, you’re also depriving your body of essential vitamins that play a huge role in the normal functioning of your body—including the ability to burn calories. You heard that right.

Fat will not make you fat

Trans fats = bad fats

Of course, nothing in excess is good for you and that includes fat. However, in normal quantities—fat will not make you fat. Fatty acids such as coconut oil, ghee, and butter are not stored as fat reserves in the body. Instead they’re transported into the bloodstream and used as fuel and the good news is that because these fats are converted into energy they speed up your metabolism rate. Win and win!

Trans fats = bad fats

Trans fats = bad fats

So what exactly constitutes as bad fat? Like anything you put in your body, what you need to be mindful about is quality. Trans fats are poor quality fats that lead to the poor functioning of everything in your body. Stay clear of packaged foods that contains this demon and you’re body will remain fresh, fabulous and intact!

As the esteemed Dorothy Parker once said "living well is the best revenge" and I take that piece of advice to heart. A babe in the woods for all things theatrical--I like to see drama in the mundane. Fresh off the yacht into this editorial world, I look forward to bringing in a fresh, beautiful perspective.
