THREE SUREFIRE WAYS TO NAIL THAT INTERVIEW
So you’ve finally scored an interview with the company you’ve always wanted to work for and naturally, you’re a bundle of nerves before your big day. Here’s what can help you nail that interview…

Wear it right…
Where you’re headed for an interview will define what you wear when you get there. In the case of media or publishing houses where casuals are a daily norm, you can play around with semi-formals. But, if you’re headed to an office that adheres to strict timings and a dress code, Western or Indian formals are your safest bet. Remember to stick to neutrals and go easy on the makeup, except for some eyeliner or kajal, a nude lip and stud earrings.

We recommend: Impeccably tailored pants or a skirt suit in beige or grey if you intend to wear Western formals and a well fitted, full sleeved kurta with a Nehru collar worn with a plain contrasting dupatta and churidar if you wish to wear Indian.

Write it right…
When it comes to resumes, there are a few commandments. In smaller companies, the person hiring you for the job is the one who will read your resume and shortlist you. In bigger companies, you’ll be shortlisted by the HR department which means that in all possibility the person hiring you will be reading your resume for the first time when you’re sitting in front of him/her.  So keep it crisp, customise it for the job you want and don’t be shy about your strengths and achievements.

We recommend: Jotting down all your occupational details and achievements, trimming them to fit your job role and then bouncing them off a non-partial friend or a parent for advice. And yes, don’t be afraid to break away from the monotony of the old school resume format.

Flash that smile…
Yes, we agree that interviews can be rather daunting but now that you have one scheduled, you might as well look and feel your very best. One important aspect of looking your most confident self (apart from your attire) is to wear a smile. It’s one of the most important parts of body language (something that your interviewer’s is definitely gauging), and it exudes energy, confidence, positivity and a great attitude. In today’s world, employers aren’t looking just for your qualifications; they’re looking for someone who has an attitude that is in alignment with that of their organisation. But be genuine because nothing’s more easy to spot than a fake smile.

We recommend: Get that winning smile with the new Closeup Diamond Attraction that makes use of patented blue light technology that makes teeth white, and over time, brighter and wider.
