The fashion calendars are forever buzzing with activity, there always is a fashion week or awards to look forward to. But even then, if there is ever a dull moment on your sartorial calendar and you feel deficient of vitamin fashion, here is what you can resort to. We at BB list out five documentaries every fashion fanatic needs to watch for an inside view into the fraternity and into the lives of fashion makers.
The September Issue
For anyone with any inclination towards fashion magazines, as an aspiring fashion journalist or a fashion consumer, this film is a must-watch. A peek-a-boo into the life of iconic Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, the film delves into the making of its massive September issue. If you are a disciple of the fashion Bible Vogue and want to know what goes into putting it together, this is the movie for you.

Mademoiselle C
Carine Roitfeld, former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris is one of the most powerful names in the fashion fraternity and one of the world’s most glamorous grandmothers. This film documents the creation of the first issue of CR Fashion Book, Roitfeld’s first independent fashion venture after Vogue Paris. Mademoiselle C follows the woman as she embarks on her new journey post Vogue, giving us access to the inner realms of her fashion frenzied life.

The Eye Has to Travel
Revisit the golden age of fashion magazines with this film that delves into the life of noted fashion columnist and editor, Diana Vreeland. This film documents her life and career through Paris and New York, where she created fashion history.

Chasing Beauty
Nothing like the other films in the list, this film deals with the other side of fashion. The film is a revelation of what goes behind putting up that glamorous face of fashion. And it so turns out that fashion has cost its makers far more than its consumers. Behind those glossy covers and glamorous runways, there is a darker side to this industry. Chasing Beauty is a peek into that world and the challenges that are prerequisites of it.

Dior & I
Raf Simons is fashion personified, period! Needless to say therefore, this film is every fashion follower’s must watch. In 2012 when Simons took over Dior as the artistic director, expectations soared. His first ever haute couture collection for Dior was created in a record time of eight weeks and eventually opened to great reviews. This film by Frédéric Tcheng, documents those stressful months that went onto creating the iconic collection with an exclusive behind-the-scenes access into the Dior atelier.
